I hope all of our families have had a good week. We have been lucky with the weather mostly – today was certainly a bit blowy though! Much of this week has been dominated by plans for the potential reopening of school. Whilst we continue to await new information and guidance to inform us, as a school much has been achieved already in preparation for wider reopening. I would like to thank the staff who have been able to help out so far with this huge task!
As you’ll know, our childcare provision has been based at Codsall Middle School since the start of the Easter holidays and in the 7 weeks that has passed since, our staff have worked there providing childcare to our Key Worker children. Once again I want to thank the Birches childcare provision team for continuing to provide for our children, including throughout the holidays – without hesitation. This week (May 20th) was National Thank a Teacher Day – we certainly have a lot to be thankful for at Birches but not just for the teachers (who are, without question, wonderful!) but also the Teaching Assistants, Admin team, Cleaning/Site team, Kitchen, Club and Lunch teams – Birches wouldn’t be what it is without you all! 🙂 Next week sees us making a return to Birches with childcare provision starting again from Tuesday 26th May. I’d like to thank the staff at Codsall Middle School (and our fellow tenants from St Nics!) for welcoming us on site and to Mr Bowers for his support during our time at CMS. It has been a positive demonstration of the collaborative working and partnership between our MAT schools. Whilst our time at CMS has been enjoyed by all, staff (and children we hope!) are very much looking forward to getting ‘back home’ next week!
I am delighted to share some more positive news with you this week as we have welcomed another new addition to the Birches family! A little boy. Congratulations to the family and we can’t wait to meet him!
As we look forward to the Bank Holiday weekend and what would have been our half term holiday, I hope that all our families are able to enjoy some time together and relax.
I will, of course, continue to keep you posted with any developments and further information regarding any potential reopening as I am able to do so.
Take care all and very best wishes,
Mrs Ferretti
