The children in Year 4 had a wonderful day recently exploring their topic Woeful World War 2 in more depth. The children came to school in a range of costumes from land army girls and evacuees to soldiers on the front. They spent the day in their blackout classroom and enjoyed a range of activities including an air raid drill, preparing suitcases for their evacuation and learning about propaganda. They also had fun exploring some traditional war time pastimes, building Anderson shelters and creating poppy art. Thank you to our parents for support the day by providing costumes. We can’t wait to wear them again for our trip next half term!
