We are looking forward to our Reception children starting their full time schooling journey with us next week. Whether they are brand new to the school or moving up from Nursery, it is always an exciting time and there will be lots of fun experiences to look forward to this year! We hope they are as excited as we are!

Please see below a reminder of the induction arrangements for the first week of term;

Wednesday 2nd September – children will attend school for the afternoon; 1.35pm – 3.00pm. Please line up at the playground gate with your child. Once opened, you can follow the path around school to the Reception class where Mrs Stubbs and Mrs Miller will be waiting to greet you and welcome your child into the classroom. At 3.00pm, again, please line up at the gate until it is opened and walk around to Reception where your child will be dismissed (these locations are as shown on our Back to School tour). Please do bear with us as staff get to know parent’s faces and help children to learn the ‘going home routine’ – dismissal may take a little longer during the first week or so!

Thursday 3rd September – children attend school for the morning, including lunch (8.30am-12.15pm).

Friday 4th September – children attend school for the full day (8.30am – 3.00pm).

Monday 7th September – children will attend full time from this day onwards (8.30am – 3.00pm).

Should your child find it difficult to enter school, please step to one side and allow space for other parents and children to pass and enter the classroom. Once all other children are safely inside, a member of staff will support your child where possible. We recognise that this is a big transition for the children and understandably they may be anxious. From our experience however, children quickly settle and adjust once they are in the classroom and we can distract them with lots of exciting things to do! Please be assured your child will be comforted during this time.

We look forward to seeing you all soon!
