Dear parents,

The autumn days are beginning to take a frosty turn and Christmas will soon be upon us. We know that celebrations will be very different this year in many ways and Christmas in school and with our families will be very different.

As a staff we feel it is important to make Christmas special for the children in any way we can. Unfortunately, as I’m sure you will understand, the restrictions we have in place mean that our usual nativity and carol concert performances are not possible.
Therefore, this year we are planning a whole school, collaborative ‘virtual’ performance. Within own bubbles, classes will be filmed performing their song or songs and these videos will be edited together to create a collective show.

It is our intention to be able to produce copies of the performance for parents to buy – details to follow.

In line with guidance, children will be practising by singing the songs in the hall and learning words in classrooms. They will also be bringing song words home and links will be shared to music tracks so that children can practise at home. Children will be asked to bring in Christmas jumpers, hats and accessories for the filming day – again, more detail on this to follow.

To enable us to produce and share the performance with other families we require consent from parents for their child(ren) to be included in the recording. Any children for whom consent is not given will still be able to join in with the rehearsals but will be removed during the actual filing.

Please log on to your ParentPay account and select the Christmas Performance option to confirm your consent (no charge) no later than Friday 20th November. Please give consent for each individual child as we can not assume consent if only given for one sibling. If consent is not received children will not be included in the filming.

Best wishes and many thanks for your ongoing support.
