We find ourselves at the end of what would have been our first week of the Summer term. Surprisingly, the weeks seem to be whizzing by and I’m sure I’m not the only one who is having to check what day of the week it is more than once or twice!!
Although we are dealing with such difficult, worrying times, we have at least been blessed with another week of sunshine to enjoy.
This week staff have enjoyed getting in contact with many of our children and families – some by phone call, some by email as well as a few video messages! We hope that you have enjoyed having contact with us – I know that staff have found it really positive. If you haven’t yet received contact then staff will continue to make calls etc over the coming weeks.
I wanted to take the chance this week to say a huge thank you and well done to YOU – our parents. You are doing a fabulous job during difficult times – well done!! Life has changed dramatically over the last few weeks and amongst everything we may be having to deal with, adapt to and worry about… parents are also turning their hand to home schooling!
Just remember – it’s ok to not get it right all of the time, the most important thing right now is for the children to be safe and feel happy and secure. There are lots of wonderful ideas and suggestions on social media etc that people are kindly sharing – this is fabulous but beware – it can be easy to fall into the trap of comparing ourselves to others and feeling we don’t quite ‘meet the grade’! Please don’t! We are all different, our children are all different and we all need to find our own, new ways that ‘work’ for us.
So well done to you all, thank you for the support you are giving your children with their home learning – in whatever way you find works for you. We hope that the online tasks, challenges and links we have shared are proving useful to you. As always, if you have any questions or concerns or just want to make contact, please do email myself; jferretti@birches.staffs.sch.uk or your child’s class teacher as previously sent out via text.
I hope you have a lovely weekend. As always; stay safe, stay home, save lives.
We’re all in this together.
Miss Ferretti
