A Happy New Year and welcome back to all our children and families.
It has been wonderful to see the children back in school this week and they have certainly made a fantastic start to 2020. Staff have enjoyed celebrating many good behaviour choices with the children, promoting high standards and positive attitudes. This week we have seen all classes settling back into routines and learning, excited to start exploring their new topics.
We have welcomed new members to the team – Mr Jones into Year 3 and Mrs Stevens into Year 4 alongside Mrs Cain, as well as Mrs Connolly who is providing PPA cover across school and Mrs Gyongyosi (‘Mrs G’ to the children!) in Nursery. We are delighted they have joined the team and I am sure they will be very happy at Birches.
Year 4 enjoyed a fantastic Sparkle Day on Wednesday as they took part in an Egyptians workshop – what a wonderful way to kickstart their new topic! The children were engaged and fascinated throughout the day. Many thanks to our wonderful PFA who kindly funded the day. I’m sure the children will remember it for a long time to come.
