Wow! What a fantastic day we’ve had!
First of all, a big thank you to parents who helped their children get into the spirit of things with their outfits – they looked absolutely amazing!
As part of our World War day, children were sorted into their houses and sent off to complete their four different activities during the day. They had fun learning about life in the trenches, World War planes, creating their own paper poppies, enjoying a scrumptious scone and learning the words to ‘We’ll Meet Again’ by Vera Lynn. At the end of the day, parents and children gathered in the playground for a minute’s silence and to collectively sing ‘We’ll Meet Again’.
A fantastic day was had by all, staff and pupils alike. Children will continue to learn about WW1 in their English lessons and will complete their clay poppies next week. These will then be used to create a whole school display.
Here are a few photos taken throughout the week including our World War display featuring your wonderful contributions which were gratefully received and have added a personal touch.
Thank you,
Miss Schubert
