Our spring term ended in style with some lovely activities and events for the children and our families. Sports Relief week was once again very successful with the children getting the chance to have a go at a selection of sports workshops ranging from dance, multiskills, basketball, archery, and fencing. Thank you for the donations sent in for this valuable cause. Thanks also to Mrs Stubbs for her organisation of the week.
Our Year 4s entertained us all with their class assembly – it was so lovely to see them performing with such confidence and so keen to share tales of their experiences at Kingswood. Well done Year 4 and thank you to Miss Schubert for supporting the children in preparing for their performance.
Our Easter children’s event was enjoyed by all who came – Dippy the Clown certainly kept the children (and staff!) entertained!
There were also class trips to Dudley zoo and Think Tank in Birmingham which were enjoyed by children in Year 2 and Reception and provided an exciting extension to the learning that children had been doing in class.
It was lovely to see so many parents in school for our Year 3 parents lunch and our (slightly rainy!) Easter parade. Thank you to parents who helped their child to create a decorated egg or bonnet for this event. Well done to all who took part and to our class winners.
Some children from School Council visited the Co-op on the last day of term to deliver the donations that were kindly sent in to support The Well food bank. Thank you to all who supported this cause – the donations were very gratefully received.
Our winning house for the Spring term was Elm house who enjoyed an Easter egg hunt on the school field as a treat for earning the most house points. The Ace Attenders for the term were Year 4 who also had a class treat. Well done Elm and Year 4!
Thank you to all who were able to attend our Easter celebration assemblies on the last day. The children once again did us all proud. I hope you enjoyed it.
As we look towards the Summer term (and hopefully some warmer, sunnier weather!) there is plenty to look forward to. Next week is Health week and the children have some interesting and fun workshops planned. Football, Dance, Mathmagicians, Writing Wizards, Phonics and Gym clubs. Choir club will meet at lunchtimes as and when I am able to do so.
I hope you’ve all had an enjoyable Easter break and I look forward to seeing the children and our families back in school on Monday 16th April.
