Dear Parents,
I hope you have all had a good week and that all our children and families are well. The sunshine and warmth has been very welcome this week and although we’re not able to go out and enjoy the weather in the ways we might normally, I hope that many of you have been able to enjoy time in gardens where possible or some daily exercise in the sunshine.
Staff have been busy setting up our new childcare provision for Key Worker children at Codsall Middle School this week. Whilst it has been a quiet week with only a few children booked in, the first few children settled in quickly to their new classrooms and enjoyed a range of activities. Over the next few weeks we have more children who will need to make use of the childcare provision and I am sure they will quickly get used to their new surroundings. Thank you to staff who have continued to work through their Easter holidays without hesitation and for their help in setting up the new provision at CMS.
I hope you enjoyed our Staff Toilet Roll Challenge video this week! We certainly had fun putting it together and we loved watching it as we are also missing each other lots! As a team we wanted to remind the children that we are still thinking of them all every day and we thought this would be a fun way of doing so! Thank you to Mrs Cain for overseeing and to Mr Cain for putting the video together for us.
As you know, we are looking for ways we can keep our Birches community spirit alive and celebrate our wonderful school community, even during these difficult times. I know many of you have visited school this week and may have taken a photo of the children standing next to our rainbow banner. If you have visited (or if you visit in the coming weeks) please email your photo to Mrs Cain as she is planning on creating a collage to go on our website. Please note that emailing your photo will be considered consent for it to be displayed on the school website. We also wondered whether we could start a ‘pebble garden’ to go with our banner? Why not decorate a pebble and next time you go for a walk for your daily exercise perhaps you could pop to school and place your pebble under the banner. It would create a lovely display. Again, please send in any photos as we would love to see them! We will soon be launching a ‘Tallest Sunflower Competition’ – further details to follow. Please do visit our Community page on the website and if you haven’t done already, have a look at our wonderful Rainbow Gallery!
I hope all our families remain safe and well over the coming week.
Wishing you all a Happy Easter.
Very best wishes,
Mrs Ferretti
